Medical Laboratory Professionals Week

By virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution of Virginia in the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, there is hereby officially recognized:

WHEREAS, originating in 1975, Medical Laboratory Professionals Week is an annual celebration of medical laboratory professionals who play a vital role in healthcare and patient advocacy; and

WHEREAS, dedicated medical laboratory practitioners are essential members of the healthcare team, working tirelessly every day to provide vital test results to confirm or rule out a suspected diagnosis; and

WHEREAS, the role of the medical laboratory professionals should be recognized as critical to maintaining high standards of healthcare in Virginia; and

WHEREAS, during Medical Laboratory Professionals Week and throughout the year, we pay tribute to the hard work and dedication of those who, through attention to patient safety and laboratory testing skills, provide high-quality care and contribute to the overall health of our region;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize April 14-20, 2024, as MEDICAL LABORATORY PROFESSIONALS WEEK in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
