The commonwealth offers a variety of financial aid opportunities for Virginia students.
The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) provides a table of available financial aid programs, the Scholarships & Grants Quicklist, as well as financial aid links. Please note that financial aid comes from many different sources (Federal, State, Institution, and Private) and, in most cases, requires completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Guarantee Transfer from Community College to Four-Year Universities

Virginia’s community colleges offer students more than the opportunity to earn a degree or certificate. They can also provide a gateway to the Commonwealth’s four-year colleges and universities.

Through system-wide agreements, students who graduate from one of Virginia's 23 community colleges with an associate's degree and a minimum grade point average may obtain guaranteed admission to more than 20 of the commonwealth's colleges and universities.

In addition, individual colleges have even more transfer agreements to choose from, so check with your college guidance office, or visit the Virginia Education Wizard.
