2017 National Music Week

WHEREAS, music is an art and harmonious force, intended to extend the radius of its influence among nations, groups and individuals, and

WHEREAS, music is a vital part of Virginia’s culture, and citizens of the Commonwealth love all forms of music; and

WHEREAS, the pursuit of music through studying, composing, listening, and performing enriches our culture and lives; and

WHEREAS, this year will mark the 94th annual observance of National Music Week; and

WHEREAS, National Music Week provides an opportunity for the National Federation of Music Clubs and religious, educational, and civic groups to join with music lovers to celebrate music and its value to society;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Terence R. McAuliffe, do hereby recognize May 7-14, 2017, as NATIONAL MUSIC WEEK in our COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
