Youth Art Month


WHEREAS, youth art education benefits all elementary, middle, and secondary students; and

WHEREAS, through art education, students develop a deeper understanding of multicultural values; and

WHEREAS, art education helps students develop lifelong skills, including motor skills, language development, inventiveness, visual learning, and decision making; and

WHEREAS, art education interrelates student learning in art production, art history, art criticism, and aesthetics; and

WHEREAS, during Youth Art Month we recognize the contributions made by art educators across the Commonwealth in the development and learning of Virginia students;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Terence R. McAuliffe, do hereby recognize March 2015 as YOUTH ART MONTH in our COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
