Private Security Services Week

WHEREAS, the health, safety, and well-being of all Virginians are of utmost importance to the prosperity and livelihood of our Commonwealth’s families and communities; and

WHEREAS, the mission of the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is to provide the leadership needed to improve Virginia’s criminal justice through effective training, partnerships, research, regulation, and support; and

WHEREAS, the Professional Investigators and Security Association (PISA) is the largest association of its kind in Virginia; and

WHEREAS, PISA is dedicated to providing training and joint programs with partners in the Virginia community; and

WHEREAS, Virginia has more than 1,800 active Private Security Services Business Licenses; and

WHEREAS, Virginia has more than 41,000 active Private Security Services Individual Registrants; and

WHEREAS, during the week of April 7-9th PISA will host its annual Professional Investigator and Security Association Symposium; and

WHEREAS, Private Security Services Week is an opportunity to recognize the courageous men and women who protect us each and every day; 

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Terence R. McAuliffe, do hereby recognize April 7-14, 2016 as PRIVATE SECURITY SERVICES WEEK in our COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
