National Window Film Day


WHEREAS, window film ensures safe and secure environments for home and vehicle owners, public buildings, and retail establishments; and 

WHEREAS, nearly 80 percent of all window film in the world is manufactured in the United States, and offers significant benefits at all levels – employment, energy savings, improved health, and reduced carbon footprints; and 

WHEREAS, Virginia is home to the International Window Film Association, and the primary window film manufacturing plants of Eastman Chemical Company and Commonwealth Laminating & Coating; and 

WHEREAS, the window film industry contributes to a strong economy in Virginia by providing consumers and businesses a cost-effective means of saving energy, and creating job opportunities in communities throughout the Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, National Window Film Day is an opportunity to acknowledge the men and women in the industry who manufacture, distribute, and install window film, and educate the public about the industry’s many contributions to our society; 

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Terence R. McAuliffe, do hereby recognize April 30, 2014, as NATIONAL WINDOW FILM DAY in our COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA,  and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
