Health Care Quality Week


WHEREAS, the health and safety of all Virginians is important to the happiness, prosperity and well-being of our Commonwealth's families and communities; and

WHEREAS, access to quality, affordable healthcare should be available to all Virginians in need; and

WHEREAS, improved healthcare outcomes result in better quality of life and decreased healthcare costs; and

WHEREAS, healthcare quality professionals across Virginia have demonstrated a commitment to delivering high-quality, cost-effective healthcare to the Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, since 1976, the Virginian Association for Healthcare Quality (VAHQ) has provided its members with education, networking and national representation opportunities; and

WHEREAS, members of VAHQ work to improve clinical and administrative processes, medical peer review, and risk management and regulatory compliance; and

WHEREAS, Healthcare Quality Week is an opportunity to celebrate the work of healthcare professionals dedicated to improving the lives of all Virginians;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Terence R. McAuliffe, do hereby recognize October 19-25, 2014, as HEALTHCARE QUALITY WEEK in our COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
