RICHMOND – Governor Terry McAuliffe announced additional appointments to his Administration today. The appointees will join McAuliffe’s Administration focused on finding common ground with members of both parties on issues that will build a new Virginia economy and create more jobs across the Commonwealth.
Office of the Governor
Denise Burch, Confidential Assistant to the Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff
Denise Burch has been appointed to the position of Confidential Assistant to the Chief of Staff and the Deputy Chief of Staff. Previously Denise served as Executive Assistant to the Secretary of the Commonwealth and Special Assistant for Gubernatorial Board Appointments. Before this, she served as Director of Constituent Services and Scheduling to former two term Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling. She also served as Sen. Bolling’s Legislative Aide in the Virginia Senate. In 1998, she was appointed as Confidential Assistant to Governor Jim Gilmore.
Sadie Gary, Deputy Scheduler
Sadie Gary has been appointed to the position of Deputy Scheduler. Sadie was a 2016 Governor’s Fellow in the office of the Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security and returned to that office as an intern from December 2016 to January 2017. Sadie is a recent graduate of Virginia Tech where she received her Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a double major in Political Science.
J.D. Ratliff, Deputy Director of Constituent Services
J.D. Ratliff has been appointed to the position of Deputy Director of Constituent Services. He has been with the McAuliffe administration since May 2016. J.D. previously served as an intern in the White House in the Office of Political Strategy and Outreach during the spring of 2016. Prior to that, he was a 2015 Governor’s Fellow in the Virginia Office of Intergovernmental Affairs. J.D. is a native of Prince William County and has a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Virginia.
Rickee Jones, Systems and Database Manager for Constituent Services
Rickee Jones has been appointed Systems and Database Manager for Constituent Services. Previously, Rickee served as the Deputy Director of Scheduling in the Office of the Governor. Prior to this, she served as a Special Assistant of Constituent Services and was a 2016 Governor’s Fellow in Communications. Rickee is a native of Hampton and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Danielle Crowley, Special Assistant for Constituent Services
Danielle Crowley has been appointed to the position of Special Assistant for Constituent Services. Danielle was a 2014 Governor’s Fellow in the Office of Constituent Services. Danielle has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Christopher Newport University and recently completed her Master of Arts in Intelligence and International Security from King’s College London.

Caroline Corl, Executive Assistant
Caroline Corl has been appointed to the position of Executive Assistant to the Secretary of the Commonwealth. Caroline was a legislative intern for Delegate and then Senator Jennifer McClellan, and worked in a substance abuse program at the Chesterfield County jail. Caroline has her Bachelor in Social Work and Master of Social Work with a concentration in Policy both from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a Richmond native.
